AN OLD woman has been rescued from a PIGSTY after being locked there “for years” by her cruel son.
The widow, 92, surnamed Yang, is said to have been driven out of her own home because she suffers from incontinence.
Her conditions were only discovered by a local resident in Fengshan County, China, who recorded a video and uploaded it to social media.
The clip, which has since gained several hundred thousand views, shows Yang locked in the 10 square metre pigsty, with no warm clothes or a proper bed.
She was apparently fed through the metal bars and was never allowed out of the sty that was covered in human filth.
Local police ordered the woman’s son to let her out and took her to be treated at the Fengshan County People’s Hospital, where she remains.
The son his wife are now under investigation for abuse, but they claim the elderly mum moved into the “room” voluntarily.
He claims he thought her incontinence would be too much of an inconvenience for the couple, so she moved out herself a few years ago.
Fengshan County people said they would continue to investigate after the pensioner is strong enough to give a proper statement.
